In October 2024, Dench.com became backed by Y Combinator.
We started Dench because the tools that hold company context have not kept up with the way modern teams work. Sales, customer conversations, follow-ups, product feedback, and internal decisions are scattered across inboxes, calls, documents, spreadsheets, and CRMs that people update only when they have to.
Our belief is simple: the next CRM should feel less like a database people maintain and more like an AI workspace that understands the work already happening.
Why This Matters#
Y Combinator backs founders at the earliest and most consequential stage of company building. For us, that backing gave Dench a sharper mandate: move quickly, stay close to users, and build something that earns its place in daily work.
We are focused on teams that need better customer context without adding more admin drag. That means product decisions shaped by real workflows, not by a checklist of legacy CRM features.
What We Are Building#
Dench is an AI workspace CRM for teams that want every customer relationship, account note, next step, and operating detail to become easier to use.
The goal is not another system of record that people forget to update. The goal is a workspace where agents help teams capture context, remember what matters, and move work forward.
This is the beginning of that work.
